About
Project Hope’s intent is to establish an alternative system, funded by the patient and managed by healthcare providers in proximity. Services are provided to patients, based upon private health interests, and governed by the doctor-patient relationship, with the patient acting in his or her best interest. Private Healthcare will focus on patient care and interest to significantly improve life expectancy and longevity, seeking to educate patients to be actively involved in lifestyle and preventative medicine. Doctor and patient fiduciary relationships fall within the private domain and are funded by the patient self.
Project Hope is a venture where the people we used to call “patients” are really “clients”, and the client’s voice is the most important. It will be focused on Preventative and Lifestyle medicine with clients at its centre.
Unlike our current system, in our model, clients are not the “repeat customers” that clog every layer and fill every bed, and who are forced to return repeatedly to have misdiagnosed, mistreated or ignored problems addressed with long wait times and frustration. The Lifestyle Medical Centre will have an operating model and facilities that are based on truly ethical, client-centred care, where practitioners are empowered to offer guidance to clients on how to make lifestyle changes in order to create vibrant long lives. This will be a financially sustainable enterprise built on relationships with a growing and satisfied client base.
